Preparing Your Items
What supplies are needed for preparing my items?
Hangers of any kind (you will NOT be getting hangers back from sold items)
Safety pins for attaching tags
Tag gun, if preferred
Packing tape - for attaching tags to toys, sealing bags, etc.
Plastic zipped baggies - for all of your onesies, socks, and toys with small parts
Zip ties or ribbon/string
Magic eraser or cleaner - you want your plastic pieces and shoes to SHINE!
Where can I find hangers?
Dry cleaners often have an over abundance of wire hangers and are willing to give them away!
Also, ask on Facebook! Many people receive unwanted hangers with work uniforms, while shopping, etc. and just toss them.
Again, please understand that we do not guarantee that your hangers will be returned to you!
How should I prepare baby equipment and toys?
Depending on the item, you can fasten tags using zip ties or clear packing tape. Simply hole punch the top of your tag to attach tags using zip ties. For smaller items (i.e. bibs, baby socks, small toys), group them together in a zipped plastic bag and seal the bag with clear packing tape. Secure tags to the outside of plastic bags using clear packing tape.
How should I prepare my clothing items?
We are looking for the best of the best because that is what will sell!
It is highly recommended that you take the time to wash and iron the clothing items you want to sell. Please take the time to check for stains, tears, missing buttons, broken zippers, etc.
Please note that we have the right to reject items is they are not in excellent condition at drop-off.
For pants, shorts, and skirts, please use safety pins to attach them to hangers. DO NOT fold these over the hangers as they will most definitely fall off the hanger. You can also attach sets together using safety pins but make sure each item is visible.
PLEASE NOTE: When hanging items, the loop of the hanger needs to be like a question mark. We will be hanging all items with the left should facing outwards.
How should I prepare shoes?
We will ONLY accept shoes that are in like-new condition. (Remember that a magic eraser can be your best friend here to remove any scuffs on white soles!)
Place shoes in a plastic zipped bag and secure the bag closed with clear packing tape and attach tag on the outside of the bag using clear packing tape. If your shoes do not fit in a bag, you can attach them and your tag together with a zip tie.
How should I prepare toys?
We anticipate these to be our best sellers! Keep in mind that presentation is key to catching shoppers' eyes. (Again, magic erasers will be your friend here!)
Please ensure that all parts are available and batteries are included (if applicable) and group any small pieces together in a zipped plastic bag with the tag taped on the outside of the bag.
For larger toys, attach tags as specified previously BUT you might want to also handwrite your consignor information on some masking tape just in case your consignor tag gets removed somehow.
